Projects: Tennis Ball Cannon

Second semester physics requires students to build a cannon that launches a tennis ball 30 meters away, hitting a 1 by 1 meter square. An aluminum can was placed in the middle of the square, and once, out of I think 9 times, our cannon launched the tennis ball and directly hit the can 30 meters away. Our cannon advanced to round two, when we needed to hit aluminum cans 10 meters away. The design was not good at hitting objects at close distances, so we did not advance past round two.
