Projects: Spaghetti Tower

The first semester physics project was to design a small tower using spaghetti. Weight will be applied to the top of the tower, and efficiency is calculated by the weight that the tower can take until it breaks versus the weight of the tower itself. Our tower's efficiency got to 228, and then the tower broke because the weight slided off of the tower and took the tower along. Otherwise, I am confident that the efficiency can go well above 300, since the tower was not even moving at 228.

The mass of the tower was 38.5 grams. We had 3 students in the group.
